Elizabeth Lefai joins our Ellerslie Events team

"Tauhi vā" - Ellerslie Events’ newest hire brings Tongan values to the sought after events space

With years of experience in administration and front of house roles, Elizabeth Lefai is excited to inject a bit of her Tongan heritage into her latest role here at Ellerslie Events as an account manager.

Ellerslie Events is thrilled to welcome Liz to our fabulous team of account managers

After joining the team two months ago, she’s already hit the ground running, working with a variety of clients to deliver a range of top-end events.

“One of our core Tongan values is “Tauhi vā”. It centres around cultivating and maintaining relationships, and is something I firmly believe in.”

“Honing in on this has helped me immensely over the past couple of years, and I’ve loved incorporating this into my day to day at Ellerslie Events.”

Kiwi born and raised, and hailing from Kolonga & Kolomotu’a villages in Tonga, Elizabeth moved to Melbourne in 2006, before returning to New Zealand in 2021. Most recently she spent time in event management with Fernz Catering Ltd, managing events across multiple venues including Auckland’s Alexandra Park and Auckland Showgrounds. It’s an invaluable experience she says she’ll lean on heavily in her new role.

“I’m really looking forward to working with clients on a much bigger scale now. There’s more rooms, and the events are a lot larger at Ellerslie, but I’m stoked to be honing my skills and taking on this new challenge.”

“My extensive experience in administration will also come in handy when it comes to organising run sheets and schedules.”

Outside of work Lefai is a proud mother to three young boys, who she hopes will be proud of seeing their mum take on the new role.

“I’m incredibly passionate about bringing a client’s vision to life. Whether it’s a birthday, attending the races, a wedding or a large conference, the majority of the time it’s these people’s first time trying to organise an event. I’m there to help bring it all to fruition.”

The thing Lefai is most excited about is the huge variety Ellerslie Events has to offer.

“When I first started there was a car show here, and then a charity event the following week. They’re all big events too. What I’m most looking forward to is the sheer scale and variation. Every week and every day is so different.”
